South Coast Educational Collaborative (SCEC)

South Coast Educational Collaborative conducts education programs and services that complement and strengthen the school programs of member districts and increases educational opportunities for all children. Through collaborative efforts, cost efficiencies and program effectiveness are maximized. We believe that all human beings are capable of learning throughout their lives. The ultimate goal at SCEC is for students to participate and contribute as fully as possible in the communities in which they live. The focus of all members of the SCEC community is on teaching and learning with continuous improvement of the conditions necessary for optimal teaching and learning to occur. Mutual respect and collaboration are expected and infused into all working partnerships.

Programs Available

Gallishaw High School

Gallishaw High School is a school-to-career transition school providing comprehensive educational and therapeutic services for students in grades 9 through 12 and through age 22 with social, emotional, behavioral and academic challenges that have inhibited success in school.

Gallishaw High School at Seekonk High School

Gallishaw High School at Seekonk High School is an educational/therapeutic program serving special and general education students in grades 9 through 12 whose social, emotional, and/or academic challenges have interfered with successful functioning in a general education classroom.

Gallishaw Middle School

The Gallishaw Middle School is an educational/therapeutic program for students in grades 5–8 whose social, emotional and/or learning challenges have prevented success in a regular education setting.

George R Austin Intermediate School

The intermediate classroom at George R Austin Intermediate School, Lakeville provides a comprehensive education and therapeutic services to students with specific learning disabilities and social/emotional challenges.

Palmer River Elementary

The elementary classrooms at Palmer River Elementary School, Rehoboth offer comprehensive educational and therapeutic services for students aged six to twelve who present with diverse needs.
