Formed in 1974, the Concord Area Special Education (CASE) Collaborative serves students and teachers in our eleven member districts as well as many from outside the CASE region. CASE Collaborative brings together our school district partners, schools, faculty specialists, staff and families to create exceptional and individualized learning for all. Our focus is on creating and providing educational programs and services that help students to grow, develop, and achieve their potential as individuals.

Available Programs

The CASE Developmental Disabilities Program offers highly structured self-contained therapeutic classes that are academically challenging, while also remaining supportive and sensitive to the individual needs of each student. The staff utilizes a team model in providing therapeutic intervention services to students.

All classes in the ASD Program are located in public school buildings with same-age peers. The ASD Program offers self-contained classes that typically provide individualized programming with instruction in a 1:1 or 1:2 staff-to-student ratio. As students become more independent, programs may also include more instruction in small group settings. Therapy services are generally provided in the classroom to facilitate carryover by, and consultation with, the instructional staff. Common instructional strategies include:

Colebrook High School is a Collaborative Therapeutic Day School that serves adolescents whose educational needs have not been met in a traditional high school setting. The school is located on the Acton/Boxborough Public School Complex. The overarching goal of the Program is to empower students to self-regulate behaviors in all developmental domains: academic, emotional, relational, interpersonal, life skills, vocational/career.

All classes in the CASE Developmental Preschools Program are located in public school buildings with same- aged classmates.

The Program provides highly structured self-contained classes that are supportive and sensitive to the individual needs of each student. The staff utilizes a team model in providing therapeutic intervention services to students. All classes located in public school buildings with same-aged classmates, with the capacity to serve students who require nursing services. Services specified in a student’s IEP generally provided within the CASE classroom to enhance the opportunities for coordination. Students’ daily schedules include circle/meeting time, oral-motor sill development, fine and gross-motor skill development, language skill development, symbolic or sensory play times, communication activities of daily living and/or life skills. The curriculum follows MA Frameworks.
